What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compensation Manager position at Staffmark Group?
Summary: This position manages compensation and benefits programs throughout the organizations, establishes and implements reward programs and aligns all programs with organizational strategy and goals.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Designs overall, competitive, compensation program; aligns program with Company strategy; implements program
- Structures compensation program to yield highest value for the Company
- Develops, implements and updates salary structure/s; reviews and updates at least annually
- Determines competitive wage rates; establishes and maintains internal equity; compiles and presents data to management for corrections and approval as needed
- Understands compensation plans with monetary and non-monetary benefits
- Participates, at least annually, in professional salary surveys and/or market studies; stays abreast of market forces
- Tracks compensation and benefits benchmarking data
- Reviews payroll documents; provides feedback on errors; approves for processing
- Reviews requested merit increases; verifies internal equity and market based pricing
- Works with management to develop promotion and retention strategies for existing employees
- Assists with department budget; provides data for Company-wide salary and benefits budget; adjusts expectations as required
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years' experience; petrochemical industry or manufacturing experience highly desirable
- Experience participating in and analyzing results of salary surveys
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Knowledge of benefits systems, policies, procedures, and related processes and regulations
