Advantage Technical is seeking a Tech Associate for our client in Pleasanton, CA. At our client's Digital Biology Center we are involved in making Droplet DigitalTM PCR (ddPCR) related products using microfluidics to generate thousands of uniform nanoliter-sized droplets in a water/oil based emulsion. Built upon this concept, our client’s QX200 ddPCR system and related products are having a cutting edge impact in both research and healthcare. We’re looking for a Tech. Associate II with an upbeat attitude who will work closely with biology team to support engineering and R&D needs on our ddPCR platforms. Key activities include making solutions, making plates for engineers testing, ordering reagents and keeping an inventory of supplies to support testing needs and communicating with engineering. We are seeking a candidate to support R&D and Engineering for our ddPCR platforms. The successful candidate will be an individual who enjoys lab work and wants to learn new skills, has great communication skills and is highly organized.
How You'll Make An Impact:
• This position will support R&D and Engineering lab needs
• Assignments will be defined and routine – tasks will be repetitive most of the time with opportunity to expand lab techniques/skills upon completion of daily needs.
• May perform simple instrument operation
• The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining reagents inventory for daily tasks
• This position requires a strong team player with good interpersonal skills
What You Bring:
• Associates degree or equivalent preferred
• 0-2 years related experience - some bench experience is a plus
• Strong communication skills
• Attention to details and ability to follow instructions – written and verbal
• Good organization skills
