What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Clerk position at Staffmark?

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the front desk Receptionist provides administrative support to Human Resources Operations, Operations management and other departments by performing the following duties.


Job Expectations:
  • Professional front-office representative function to manage customer support for the distribution center and other departments
  • Greets front door visitors, vendors, receives deliveries from UPS, USPS, etc.
  • Receives, sorts and distributes incoming mall; manage any outgoing mail and overnight packages, tracks packages
  • Support Operations management with their administrative functions, coordinating team member events, logistics for event set-up and catering
  • Provides support to HR Operations, Sr. HRBP and HR Leadership as needed on various functions
  • Maintains confidentiality with sensitive information, documents, e-mails and in handling team member's information
  • Makes photocopies, scans, faxes documents and performs other clerical functions
  • Files papers and documents into appropriate files.
  • Schedules and maintains meeting calendars and conference rooms
  • Provides company uniforms to warehouse team members for annual distribution and new hires
  • Maintains inventory of materials that need to be ordered including office supplies, kitchen needs, computer supplies, etc.and place orders with appropriate vendors as needed
  • Coordinates and orders meals, snacks for lunch meetings related to training, management meetings and HR functions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Good clerical skills including telephone skills, computer skills, alphabetizing and filing, multi-tasking
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Organizational skills and an ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Positive attitude, energetic and work effectively as a team member
  • Reading, writing and computation proficiency
  • Ability to follow written and spoken supervisory direction
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to deal with a variety of team members in a positive and friendly manner

Equipment Knowledge:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred
  • Experience with HRIS and Workday system a plus

Experience Requirements:

  • Generally, requires a minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of general office administration. Human Resources experience a plus.
Education Requirements:
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business Administration, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.

Judgment/Reasoning Ability:
  • Able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy. Ability to use judgment and reasoning skills, and determine when to escalate issues, as required, in a timely manner.

Work Environment:
  • The noise in the work environment is usually moderate.
