Job Title: Material Handler/Floater
Shift: 1st 6:45am-3:30pm Mon.-Thur. & 6:45am-1pm Fri.
Pay Rate: $16-$18/hr. DOE
As a Material Handler/Floater, your primary responsibilities are, every morning making sure all the paperwork and material is in every area before the employees enter to ensure a smooth start up This includes, but is not limited to, getting production packets to the floor, material from the warehouse, packaging material, and containers to transport finished product. You should be able to read and understand standard work instructions, blue prints, inspection plans, and other manufacturing aids. You must be detail oriented and are able to learn and use new processes and systems easily. You work well in a fast-paced, customer- focused environment; enjoy working as a team and contributing to a growing company.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Checking the daily schedule to see what product is being made in each area
- Utilize fork lift and pallet jack to move product into and out of production areas
- Ensure that all production orders are present and complete in every area
- Move into production role and fill in where necessary when operators are sick or as production schedule needs
- Clean up machine parts and work stations after finished production orders, comply with 5S audits
- Assemble products according to standard work
- Achieve production goals set out by production planning and leadership
- Perform other tasks as deemed necessary by supervisor and management
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-year experience in a production setting
- Solid understanding of standard work and documentation procedures in manufacturing
- Ability to read, understand and apply production blue prints, assembly instructions, and quality plans
- Ability to inspect work according to defined instructions utilizing basic inspection gages such as tape measures, gages, etc.
- Demonstrate reliable work and attendance history
- Ability to work in team environment, multiple roles based on changing work schedules
- Manual lifting/handling up to 70 pounds repetitive and handle sharp objects carefully
- Positive attitude
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to take direction
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing shop floor environment and understanding of shop floor safety practices and work roles
- High School Diploma or GED required
