StaffRite USA is seeking a Manager, Transportation Strategy - Supplier Performance for a client in Ripley, TN.
Job Overview
Provides the resource to manage Parts Operations, Transportation Strategies and Business Plans. Key responsibilities include: the negotiation and management of air/surface contracts for inbound routes from global transportations providers and regional warehouse locations. Manages Accounts payable focused on supplier payment. Additionally, manages purchasing of indirect goods and supplier performance.
Scope
- Responsible for $45M of transportation expenditures (200,000,000 pounds) annually
- Negotiates and manages relationships with 80 air and surface transportation providers to service 8 United States locations, 2 Canadian locations
- Ensures the on time payment to 2,000 suppliers and $500m in spend per year
- Responsible for the performance of 2,000 suppliers to deliver and fulfill orders on time
Key Job Responsibilities
- Establishes and implements Parts Operations transportation strategies and annual business plan.
- Negotiates contracts with transportation providers and brokers that support the transportation strategies.
- Manage overall shipment flow from the Central Warehouse to the Regional Distribution Centers as well as from the Regional Distribution Centers to the Distributors.
- Collaborates with our Logistics Team on global transportation strategies.
- Ensures on time payment to suppliers and tracks invoice aging.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure on time delivery or parts and ensure pricing is correct.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors of Science in Logistics, Business or Management related field. Masters degree a plus.
- 5-6 years’ experience in Logistics, Distribution, Materials or related fields.
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills a must. Executive business acumen.
- Code of Federal Regulations (CFR 19), International Air Transport Association (IATA), and International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) certification.
- Prior experience in a purchasing role where incumbent worked closely with suppliers.
- Results and process oriented: change agent.
- Professional level PC and mid-level ERP skills required.

Pay: $97,065.13 - $130,766.60 per year
