What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Technology Support Specialist position at Staffworks Group?
IT Support position is ensuring that a company’s employees can use software and hardware to complete their daily tasks
- Answer employee questions regarding computer systems
- Gather and analyze data to diagnose problems with computer systems and route to appropriate support resources
- Work with vendors as needed to change configurations, settings and permissions to fix computer issues
- Coordinate the new hire onboarding process for all IT related needs. This may include sourcing and obtaining hardware and generating sign ins
- Work with vendors as needed to install new software and hardware drivers and updating existing ones as needed
- Update employees on the status of their service requests
- Log all service requests and update tickets as needed. Provide ticket analytic reports as needed
- Oversee company cyber security program, add new users as needed, monitor progress and participation.
- Maintain equipment inventory to include all workstations, peripherals, and mobile devices. Implement an equipment replacement schedule and plan.
- Maintain vendor relationships and contacts as needed
- Maintain software license information to ensure compliance, license expiration and renewals
- Understand infrastructure technology, including network connectivity and virtualized server technology, to communicate with staff and vendors and assist in decision-making
IT Support skills and qualifications
Experience working in Distribution or Mfg is a plus
Prior exp working in an ERP system is preferred
High-level knowledge of commonly used software, hardware and applications
Strong oral communication skills to gather information from employees and explain complex technical concepts in simple language
Demonstrated written communication skills to create useful support logs
Analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and diagnose issues
Time management skills to provide updates and fixes within a promised time frame
Multitasking skills to assist multiple employees at once
Observational skills to recognize warning signs that indicate potential problems
Customer service skills to interact professionally and positively with employees and coworkers
Understanding of cyber security principles and their application in a business environment
