We’re hiring Stagehands, for work in Northern California. Stagehands assist in the delivery, set up, operation, dismantling and strike of equipment and supplies needed for clients’ live events (i.e. corporate meetings, concert production, theatrical productions, special events, etc.). Such equipment often includes backline, audio systems, lighting systems, staging and scenery.

Duties And Responsibilities
Depending on the needs of the particular assignment, performs one or more of the following duties:
♦ Unloads trucks and moves gear to set up location in accordance with clients’ instructions.
♦ Unloads cases of equipment and/or staging including lighting, sound, band gear and scenery.
♦ Sets up gear including lighting systems, audio and video equipment, staging and scenery.
♦ Runs, coils and/or tapes power and control cables.
♦ Assembles and/or installs scenery and design elements.
♦ Constructs screens, scaffolding, stages, trusses, and/or ground support systems.
♦ Hangs soft goods.
♦ Strikes equipment upon completion of event, packs equipment cases and loads trucks.
♦ May work as crew during event, operating spotlights, assisting sound crew, moving backline and scenery and other related duties.
♦ Reports hours to office if no Crew Chief on duty.
♦ May perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment.
♦ Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

♦ Excellent understanding of, and adherence to, safety requirements.
♦ Capability with equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, standard and power tools, and audio/video equipment highly desirable.
♦ Good problem solving skills, common sense and good judgment.
♦ Ability to work with frequent interruptions while maintaining strong detail orientation, be flexible and adaptable under varied conditions and requirements, and maintain composure/perform well under time pressures.
♦ Ability to operate effectively in absence of direct supervision.
♦ Typically requires ability to stand for long periods, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl and/or sit on the floor.
♦ Use well-developed fine and gross motor skills and exhibit manual dexterity.
♦ Ability to regularly lift, push, pull or otherwise move and position up to 75 pounds.
♦ Specific vision capabilities include color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
♦ Ability to hear and communicate verbally.
♦ Ability to read and speak English.
♦ Basic knowledge of Internet, e-mail and faxing.
♦ Noise level in the work environment varies and can be loud.
♦ May be asked to work unconventional, varied schedules including overnight shifts.
♦ Assignments may be out-of-doors, sometimes in remote locations, and subject to prevalent weather conditions.
♦ Must be able to be contacted and respond on short notice; is required to arrive at work sites on time.

Qualifications

♦ One-year related experience in the areas of theatrical or live event electrical, carpentry, audio, backline and/or video highly desirable.
♦ OSHA 10/30 highly desirable.

Education:

♦ High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

♦ PROFESSIONAL theatrical or live event production: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

♦ ETCP Certificate (Preferred)

♦ OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certificate (Preferred)

Shift availability:

♦ Day Shift (Preferred)

♦ Night Shift (Preferred)

♦ Overnight Shift (Preferred)

Work Location:

♦ On the road

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
