Job Summary

As the Quality Sample Specialist, you will be responsible for receiving in all samples for both Wood and Laminate, cutting into size, documenting samples into OMS, and making the live samples to be used out on the production floor. As the Quality Sample Specialist, you will work closely with both Shop Leads and the entire Sales / Customer Service Department to improve the customer experience. You will also enter daily RTI (return to inventory), which will be provided by the Quality Supervisor. This must be done to keep inventory counts accurate before returned material is placed back in the warehouse to be picked. You will become a point of contact to approve texturization or other altercations made to the product to review against samples created. You will also train in various Quality functions to act as a backup incase someone in the Quality Department is absent. These areas could include, returns, quality inspection and quality approvals. This summary can be altered as we are a company that is rapidly growing, if any additions are made your immediate manager will review the changes and ensure you receive all proper training.

  • Maintain clean work area and perform machine and equipment maintenance as instructed by team leads and management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) year of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to learn how to operate basic wood working machinery.
  • Ability to follow priorities set by supervisors and sequence tasks within a set framework. Tasks are generally repetitive.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers to exchange information about tasks and to co-ordinate work.
  • Ability to interact with supervisors to receive work instructions.
  • Desire & ability to learn continuously on the job.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality required.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as, in a team environment.

Academic / Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is required.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures inside the facility.
  • Must be able to move throughout all areas of the plant as required to perform duties.
  • Must be able to spend 50% of the time on the production floor in a manufacturing environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $1.00 per hour
