POSITION SUMMARY:
The Certified Peer Specialist is responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals enrolled in the LTSR program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: providing orientation to clients in programs and/or services that might be unfamiliar to them, both individually and in groups; assisting individuals in identifying recovery goals; assisting individuals in selecting services and/or program offerings that will be useful in achieving their recovery goals; offering support and mentoring as needed in the implementation of the recovery plan; exploring, securing and utilizing each clients' support network and/or community resources; medication monitoring; and, crisis intervention. The incumbent is also responsible for facilitating the development of Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP) with program participants to promote the recovery process. The Certified Peer Specialist, along with every member of the LTSR team, must adhere to the fidelity standards, DPW regulations, and the policies and procedures established by the organization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency and one year (1) paid or volunteer experience within the past two (2) years.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be a former or current mental health consumer.
- Must possess certification as a Peer Specialist
- Must have working knowledge of the mental health and drug and alcohol systems.
- Must be free of illicit drug use and maintain and promote a clean, sober lifestyle.

- Valid driver's license with access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours.
