Role Summary:

Communications Technicians provide integrated connectivity services with telephone, fax, and internet, along with integrated wireless intercoms to remote sites. Our rapid growth has created an immediate need for experienced satellite and intercom technicians.

Role Priorities / Responsibilities:

  • Set up, install and repair electronic communications equipment; including computers, phone systems, wireless products, and satellite systems (systems/equipment used, but not limited to: PBX, Auto Acquirers, buzzer boxes, and use of hard wiring)
  • Communicate job progress to customers, job managers, and Technical Services
  • Configure network, telephony and other communication equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot network, telephony, and VSAT related issues
  • Cross-train for field operations function(s) as needed

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of computer networking systems and components
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision as well as troubleshoot on their own or with minimal remote guidance
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle record that meets fleet insurance requirements
  • Ability to lift equipment weighting up to 60lbs

  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic
  • Exemplify a customer service first attitude
  • Exemplify attention to detail in their work
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word Processing, and Outlook email applications
  • iDirect / isite experience
  • Preference given to candidates with oilfield experience

Education or Certification required (if applicable):

  • Applicants must possess a valid Driver’s License
  • A motor vehicle record that meets fleet insurance requirements

These services span the entire energy lifecycle of land, offshore and certain international hydrocarbon extraction areas providing location preparation, drilling, completion, production, decommissioning, pipeline systems and industrial services.
