Position Summary: This position is responsible for cultivating new brokerage and warehousing opportunities with new and existing customers.
Essential Position Functions: These functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.
· Scheduling appointments and meeting with existing and potential new customers to determine customer needs and offering methods the company can meet those needs.
· Effective planning and designing of professional demonstrations or presentations to conduct in-person sales meetings with existing or potential customers.
· Managing existing sales team by setting expectations for the team and measuring employee performance against those expectations.
· Liaising between the company and the customers for up-to-date conditions on pricing and services.
· Continuously updating customers on company changes in services offered and providing quotes.
· Maintaining professionalism, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tact to portray the company in a positive manner.
· Enhancing up-to-date knowledge on new services, procedures, and tools by attending departmental meetings, conferences, and trade shows.
· Use of marketing data to maximize sales effectiveness and efficiency by using relevant sales management tools.
· Preparing sales reports and maintaining expense accounts.
· Performing updates and maintenance of customer accounts including contact names and numbers for future sales opportunities.
· Performs all other duties as assigned or required.
Experience
· 2 years previous sales experience of transportation brokerage operations and public warehousing

· Special people skills to deal with customers and an outgoing personality
· Ability to identify and make contact with potential customers
· Very strong verbal and writing communication skills, including active listening

· Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals
· Strong negotiation and closing skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
