Overview
The role of the Production Manager exists to drive continuous improvement at the site in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Production Manager drives performance by maintaining and monitoring Key Performance Indicators and develops appropriate responses to drive change. A key resource of the Plant Manager, the Production Manager is involved in a wide variety of plant activities including daily production employee supervision and development, SIOP planning, and lean methodology deployment.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement culture to achieve performance
- Develop operational review cadences, including KPI reviews for the manufacturing team ensuring attainment of results and a sense of urgency with respect to the strategic priorities.
- Ensure key manufacturing metrics and key performance indicator systems are consistently tracking the appropriate measures and driving appropriate response behaviors.
- Periodically develops and presents performance results and actions, as well as strategy deployment and KPI progress.
- Ensure effective allocation of resources across all areas of the operation to accomplish company driven priorities.
- Partner with Management to ensure the best possible product and customer satisfaction.
- Play an active and significant role in the S&OP process.
- Continually benchmark best practices and implement as appropriate.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering or Business).
- 3 years' production management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Management experience including hiring, employee relations, performance management.
- Ability to effectively deploy resources to key priorities.
- Sets high expectations (driven by metrics and countermeasures) for self and the organization.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization.
- Strong decision-making skills and results driven approach.
- Knowledge and experience in Lean Principles, Problem solving, flow, standard work, Kanban, 5S
