The Career Management Center (CMC) of the Stanford Graduate School of Business seeks a Content Strategist. The Content Strategist will develop and implement the communications and content management efforts in the CMC at the GSB.

In this critical role, you will have the opportunity to shape and implement a messaging strategy and multi-channel content distribution plan that engages, informs, and empowers 900 MBA and MSx students on their career journeys while advancing the CMC’s brand awareness.

The Content Strategist will ensure execution, manage a timeline and content calendar, lead content planning meetings involving multiple stakeholders toward actionable decisions, navigate complex and competing interests, have a keen eye for detail, and work on several high-priority projects. You will develop, deliver and evaluate a portfolio of communications approaches to increase the effectiveness of the CMC’s messaging. You will collaborate with content experts to understand the needs and expectations of business school students and will possess exceptional writing, comprehension, and editing skills to ensure content is communicated in a thoughtful, consistent, well-structured, up-to-date, and accurate way across all channels.

This is a full-time position where the work can be performed with the expectation of being onsite in a hybrid setting 2-5 days per week.

Your primary responsibilities* include:

    • Lead communication strategy planning and execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy to effectively communicate with and support MBA and MSx students including collaboration with internal stakeholders and execution based on the content roadmap, plan, and editorial calendar. Streamline content scheduling efforts among various teams to ensure timely and consistent content delivery.
    • Manage the strategy to ensure a consistent voice and tone representation across all communication channels that enhance the CMC brand and align with the Stanford GSB style guide, values, and mission.
    • Implement integrated marketing communication brand strategy across a variety of channels. Write, edit, and oversee the dissemination of diverse communications assets, including social media posts, newsletters, broadcast emails, Slack messages, event descriptions and notifications, and student/alumni profiles. Define and conduct analysis and make recommendations regarding the direction of the communications.
    • Plan and maintain the editorial calendar to support communication objectives. Assess the needs of the audience and adjust accordingly.
    • Website content management: Oversee design and production of marketing materials from inception to development on the internal student-facing website. Manage the content management system (CMS), working with developers and editors to ensure it meets the CMC’s needs. Troubleshoot website issues. Conduct content audits to identify gaps and redundancies in the site content. Create and implement content schedules for stakeholders to produce or update content. Write and edit web copy. Own the student experience and ensure content is well organized and findable.
    • Content and curriculum development: Collaborate closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts (Advising, Employer Engagement, Alumni Career Services, and Ops teams) and edit information/curriculum to be consistent, organized, clear, and impactful. Streamline content production efforts.
    • Stakeholder relationship building: Proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders across the GSB and Stanford to gain insights into their content planning processes and identify opportunities for collaboration.
    • Data-driven optimization: Utilize data and analytics to continuously refine and optimize content strategies for maximum engagement and effectiveness.
    • Student-focused approach: Understand the unique needs and preferences of MBA and MSx students, creating content that addresses their career-related challenges and aspirations.
    • Occasionally, attend student events and represent the CMC in relevant GSB marketing communication meetings.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience in areas such as marketing communications, email marketing, website management, content management, learning management systems, and/or working in a training organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Previous experience in product, program and/or services marketing.
    • Ability to drive cross-functional groups toward a common goal. The ability to work effectively with decision-makers across many levels of the organization is highly preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to influence without authority and manage timelines highly preferred.
    • Understands how to implement integrated marketing programs across channels including digital and print.
    • Demonstrated experience with various marketing elements (e.g., audience, channels, communication, web content management, etc.) preferred.
    • Experience with market research and data analysis. Comfortable analyzing marketing data and working with spreadsheets is highly preferred.
    • Demonstrated problem solver.
    • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.

The expected pay range for this position is $76,000 to $130,000 per year.
