Director of Computer Resource Consulting (CRC) - Desktop Field Support

The End User Experience and Support organization (EUX) in University IT, seeks a Director to lead our Computer Resource Consulting (CRC) group, an innovative team of technologists providing desktop field support and virtual meeting support to our Stanford community.
The expected pay range for this position is $177,000 – $210,000 per annum.
Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.

We are a for-fee IT service organization that uses a cost-recovery model that funds our operations. This means we live on our own bottom line and strive to provide customer value every day. Our techs are self-starters and independent problem-solvers, technically minded but with significant soft skills, and they know how to improvise when needed. The group is active, knowledgeable, and fun. Our Clients
Stanford has 20 organizations, including 7 schools, and we have clients in all of them. We support faculty and staff in classrooms, conference rooms, research labs, and athletic facilities. We are an extension of their teams, each of which have vastly different goals and operations from teaching, learning, and research to athletics and facilities management. Our job is to make sure their computer needs are met to enable them to focus on their missions.
CRC Techs have thousands of interactions with faculty, staff, and students each month configuring their devices to meet each of their unique needs, collectively enabling an accomplished community to push the boundaries of human knowledge. Additonally, you might find a CRC team member working with the networking team to enhance wifi for sports journalists at a March Madness event, or helping a research lab connect specialized instruments to the network, or working with the information security office to effectively roll out programs that secure devices with minimal disruption to academic, administrative and research efforts.
