University IT (UIT), part of the Business Affairs organization at Stanford University, is dedicated to delivering world-class service and technological solutions to advance research, teaching and learning, administration, and healthcare. UIT is embarking on a long-term strategy to plan, replace, and implement new cloud-based solutions for several enterprise-wide systems.


UIT seeks an experienced Systems Analyst to support the technical implementation of the University’s cloud-based Human Capital Management (HCM) software application suite as part of the Pinnacle program. Pinnacle includes replacement of the legacy HR, Payroll and Enterprise Learning Management (ELM) systems. The HCM Systems Analyst will define and recommend new processes and solutions to improve business process workflows, data integrity, compliance alignment and production efficiency.


Implementation of the new cloud-based HCM application is jointly sponsored by University HR and University IT.


CORE DUTIES:

  • Lead the elicitation and gathering of future state business processes, data integration, reporting and other system requirements for a new HCM cloud solution.

  • Identify any problems or pain points with the current business processes and data flows and propose more effective future state processes.

  • Lead and coordinate with business and technical owners to identify improvement areas, evaluating the potential for automating existing or proposed work functions or processes in alignment with the HCM solution.

  • Define and document functional, technical and data requirements and test cases for cloud ERP implementation. May include the writing of all or a portion of functional, integration, technical and data mapping specifications.

  • Oversee and support the implementation of process improvements.

  • Work with the implementation team to demonstrate design options to stakeholders by prototyping such as in conference room pilots.

  • Work closely with quality assurance teams to perform comprehensive end-to-end testing of the application, including all integrations and data flows.

  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) sessions when required.

  • Lead training sessions and workshops to guide relevant teams.

  • Resolve issues and assist others with "how to" questions.

  • Work with change management teams in the creation of training guides or other learning aids to support adoption of the HCM solution.

  • Other duties may also be assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and eight years relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Requires one or more years of experience in enterprise human capital management (HCM) cloud applications - HRIS Hire to Retire processes, preferably Oracle or Workday or both.

  • Experience in two or more HCM cloud modules - Core HR, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Performance Management, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, and Learning.

  • Experience in Agile and Waterfall approaches, functional requirements, process modeling and re-engineering, use case development, user acceptance testing, organizational change management, and large-scale enterprise system implementations.

  • Ability to design and document complex business systems.

  • Experience in technical and data analysis, including data conversion and data mapping for integration requirements.

  • Proven problem solving and analytical thinking and ability to approach problems logically and systematically.

  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle, including production change control.

  • Project management skills as needed.

  • Skilled in conducting interviews and facilitating group meetings, including discussions with IT development and technical teams working on integration, data flows and reporting.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to bridge functional and technical resources by communicating effectively with individuals of varying systems expertise and business needs.

  • Strong listening, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.

  • Frequently sit, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.

  • Occasionally stand/walk, use a telephone.

  • Rarely writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
