THE POSITION
The Sheriff’s Office is looking for an energetic, team-oriented candidate to be part of the department’s Local Emergency Medical Services Agency (LEMSA). The ideal candidate will have high level administrative and computer skills, strong communication skills and a can-do attitude. Under general direction, the Technician will be responsible to carry out administrative, analytical and oversight activities to ensure that EMS providers are in conformity with State and local regulations related to delivery of prehospital emergency medical care.

Unless otherwise provided, this position is part of the Classified Service of the County and is assigned to the Mid-Management/Supervisory Bargaining Unit for labor relations purposes.
Individuals who are in a full-time classification position are required to serve a twelve-month probationary period, which may be extended an additional six months for a total of eighteen months. The probationary period does not apply to unclassified positions.

- Represents the LEMSA to county departments, external agencies, and a variety of committees and private organizations;
- Serve as a liaison to health care facility representatives, public safety agencies, and emergency medical services contractors;
- Oversees the use of communication platforms and redundancies throughout the EMS System;
- Ensures compliance with local, State and Federal data collection and reporting requirements;
- Plans, evaluates, implements and supports various EMS data systems in the LEMSA;
- Recommends, develops, and implements policies, procedures, and resolutions strategies;
- Participates in developing and updating policies;
- Prepares reports and correspondence; and
- Reviews policies, procedures and related information to assure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, rules and regulations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Completion of thirty (30) college semester units in Public or Business Administration, Computer Science, Statistics, or Information Systems, or related area; AND
- One (1) or more years of journey-level experience in developing and modifying Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word documents, Microsoft Access databases, and Microsoft PowerPoint; AND
- One (1) or more years of experience performing complex analytical work preparing, interpreting, and explaining data.
