What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Intern - Transportation Design position at Stanley Consultants?
Stanley Consultants is currently seeking a Student Intern for our Des Moines Transportation Design department. This individual will work with senior engineers on a comprehensive range of highway design projects. Experience will be gained on transportation projects from local agency projects to major interstate projects as well as transportation studies.
Essential Duties Include:
- Assist with highway design and construction plans production
- Learn analysis in highway engineering including highway geometrics, drainage design and quantity calculations
Background Requirements Include:
- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program in Civil Engineering; Transportation emphasis is preferred
- Must have completed sophomore year of a Bachelor of Science program in Civil Engineering
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, preferred
- Desire to pursue a transportation engineering career
