Your Opportunity
Stantec’s Procurement Team is seeking an energetic, driven, and detail-oriented Buyer to be responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products for our business. Your responsibilities will include processing purchase orders and associated invoices, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, quality assurance and liaising with requisitioners and management across the business for various procurement needs.
We are looking for an individual who is analytically minded and possess excellent communication and negotiating skills to secure the optimal services and products for the best possible price.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate expenditure requests against the signing authority policy and ensuring compliance
- Process requisitions and purchase orders
- Confirm delivery of goods and/or services as shipments arrive
- Review and match supplier invoices/receipts to purchase orders for accuracy
- Identify discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely fashion
- Process invoices timely to ensure they are paid on or before the due date
- Code all invoices to accurately charge associated Business Centers and projects
- Track non-standard equipment
- Prepare and process return merchandise authorizations (RMA’s), as required
- Perform reconciliation of credit card transactions and supplier statements
- Provide support and other duties related to accounts payable and receivables
Set-up new suppliers
Check Requests
ACH/EFT program
Recover credit for return merchandise and/or overpayment due to duplicate invoices
Analyze supplier aging reports and provide feedback
Strategic Sourcing / Supplier Relations / Supplier Management
- Create and develop RFIs, RFQs, RFPs for competitive bids
- Contract agreement tracking
- Identify cost savings opportunities and collaborate to achieve savings
- Negotiate pricing and supplier agreements
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Familiarity of basic procurement skills and tools is an asset
- Excellent communication and customer service skills both verbally and written; delivered in a professional manner
- Strong organizational skills to plan your workload, sometimes with tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
- The ability to work independently with confidence but still part of a team atmosphere
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field is considered an asset.
Minimum of 2-3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Relevant procure to pay experience preferred.
