Your Opportunity

The California Workplace studio is seeking a Project Manager with responsibility for project performance in terms of profit, quality, and client satisfaction. The role primarily involves client interface and management of the internal team and external consultants. You will manage projects independently and lead project teams through all phases of programming, design, documentation, and construction administration. The Project Manager is expected to have a broad set of skills, experience and knowledge.

Your Key Responsibilities

A Project Manager at Stantec is a professional chiefly responsible for client management, technical quality, and project delivery and execution. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate mastery of these compulsories while at the same time having a passion for the following: leveraging design to enhance our clients’ built environment and communities, instilling a sustainable mindset, and growing business through presentations, interviews, and cultivation of client relationships.

Project Managers are responsible for:

  • Managing multiple projects of varying sizes, complexities, and schedules by overseeing administrative aspects of the projects, including but not limited to coordinating client and consultant contract negotiations, project set-up, invoicing, staff scheduling, management of change orders, pay apps and other contractual modifications impacting budget and schedule.
  • Planning, organizing, and directing the work throughout the life of the project to assure that the project meets the budget, schedule, program, and design intent.
  • Helping to lead and mentor the technical production team in conceptualizing, developing, and documenting varying aspects of a project, including but not limited to programming, space planning, interior architecture, interior systems and materials, site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, details, renderings, specifications, FF&E and signage.
  • Adhering to Stantec’s required Project Management Framework process including QA/QC and internal/external project auditing processes.
  • Assisting leadership in developing project proposals and RFP responses.
  • Overseeing coordination and associated documentation of building systems and inter-disciplinary teams including designers, architects, engineers, specialty services and other building related professionals.
  • Conducting field observations, acting as a representative of the client and reporting construction progress to the client.
  • Leading project coordination and site meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor and sub-contractors.
  • Serving as main point of contact for assigned clients, consultants and contractors.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple clients, projects, deadlines, and priorities, assuring appropriate management of team resources and deliverables and ensuring alignment to client expectations.
  • Thorough knowledge of and ability to apply accessibility codes, applicable building and life-safety codes, building construction systems, materials, and industry associated standards.
  • Proactively take appropriate action without requiring continuous direction or guidance.
  • Thorough understanding of all phases of interior architectural document production through construction administration and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
  • Detailed knowledge of interior building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards.
  • Ability to create project plans and schedules and accountability to project financial goals.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (both verbal and written), including ability to present abstract ideas.
  • Ability to check work of others for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to oversee development of project documentation in modeling/drafting software (Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD)
  • Strong experience with general software (Bluebeam, Newforma, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Able to attend regular on-site client meetings and site visits.
  • LEED accredited professional is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Procore software is a plus.

Education and Experience

  • Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 7 years of project management experience in Commercial/Workplace design.
  • Architectural licensure, NCIDQ accreditation, or CID certification preferred.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • $100,200 - $145,300 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
