We are seeking a Permitting Coordinator to support our water business in Arizona and other areas of the Southwest. In this role, you will work closely with an engineering design team to ensure that all necessary permits and licenses are obtained efficiently and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for water infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include coordinating the permitting process, liaising with regulatory agencies, and facilitating communication between various stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely project execution.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify the required permits and licenses for specific projects.
- Prepare and submit permit applications to relevant regulatory agencies.
- Monitor the status of permit applications and ensure timely approvals.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the organization and regulatory authorities.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with permitting agencies.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to gather necessary information for permit applications.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all permits, licenses, and related documentation.
- Ensure that all permits are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide support during inspections to verify compliance with permit conditions.
- Collaborate with project managers and other relevant stakeholders to understand permit requirements for each project.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive schedule for permit submissions and approvals.
- Alert project teams to potential permitting issues and propose solutions.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and policies that may impact the permitting process.
- Update internal teams on any new requirements or regulations affecting permits.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proven experience in permit coordination or a related role.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to permits and licenses.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in using relevant software and tools for permit tracking and documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing regulations.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Geology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience.
Typical office environment includes working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
