Your Opportunity

We are seeking a Sales Specialist within our Innovation group to join our expanding team! This position will be in support of Stantec Insight Analytics and the Digital Solutions Team.

In this role we are looking for a positive team player who is self-motivated, driven to lead sales efforts and execute our sales playbook. You will enjoy working in a dynamic team setting, and understand the lifecycle of the sales process, to keep the team competitive and innovative. In this role, you will work collaboratively within a matrixed team working across all of Stantec’s markets to develop and facilitate pursuits and lead sales opportunities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by leading pursuits starting with lead identification to contracting
  • Create a calendar of activities and action items that address the wide-range of tasks unique for each sales lead
  • Create and manage sales presentations, demos, and meetings with the involvement and support of others
  • Engage with leads generated by our marketing team and sales campaigns
  • Develop and maintain thorough product knowledge of SIA Solutions
  • Maximize the sales performance by establishing strong relationships and gaining insight to the needs of clients, partnering closely with Account Managers and Product Owners
  • Qualify and generate leads and grow existing client relationships
  • Manage and update the sales pipeline
  • Adjust sales techniques based on interactions and results
  • As needed, write persuasive and compelling proposal sections tailored to the requirements; edit firm and staff qualifications to meet the project scope and strategy; edit technical writing; and collaborate with technical staff, proposal managers, and graphic designers to illustrate major points and benefits of the solution
  • Upselling and cross selling solutions with existing client base

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong understanding of the sales lifecycle; procurement process with local government
  • Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars and conferences
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from lead to contracting
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise
  • Excellent people management skills including in cross functional teams
  • Must have availability to work hours necessary to complete deadlines
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Travel requirement may range from 10-20%

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in sales within a technology setting
  • Experience in Government, Architecture/Engineering/Construction or other professional services industry is preferred
