Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a Water Resources Engineer (EI) with approximately 0 to 3 years of related experience to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to advance your career with a growing water resources practice focusing on FEMA Flood Studies, Watershed Modeling, Flood Mitigation, Stormwater Studies and Application Development.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tasks for a variety of water resources projects including dams, levee systems, watershed and floodplain studies and stormwater systems
  • Assist in FEMA Risk Map studies
  • Assist in USACE H&H analyses
  • Effectively convey project work, schedules and results in technical documents
  • Conduct field investigations on various projects including but not limited to: dam inspections, hydrology and hydraulic evaluations, and levee inspections
  • Present project information at client and community meetings

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Prior experience performing engineering calculations
  • Prior experience writing technical documents
  • Possesses excellent time management skills
  • Ability to effectively discuss project issues with project team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Presentation and interview skills

Preferred Additional Capabilities:

  • Engineering Software experience:

USACE HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), USACE HEC-HMS, and USACE HEC-DSSVue

EPA-SWMM and/or PC-SWMM

ESRI ArcGIS

  • Advanced GIS experience such as Model Builder, Python, and advanced analysis tools
  • Experience with programming languages such as C

Education and Experience

  • BS or MS degree in Civil, Biosystems, or Environmental Engineering required
  • EI Certification required
  • 0 - 3 years’ experience

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
