The Litigation, Trademark, Patent, or Intellectual Property Attorney will manage all phases of the litigation from the investigation, pleadings, and discovery through the pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal processes.
Essential Functions
- Develop case strategies regarding infringement, validity, and enforceability of trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
- Ability to be immediately involved in witness interviews, discovery (production, support and/or conduct of depositions, drafting of discovery responses) motion and brief drafting, trial preparation, and participation at trial and on appeal.
- Work independently and as a team to develop and litigate cases in a timely manner
- Consistently demonstrate behavior that is consistent with company values.
- Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- JD from an ABA approved law school; be in good standing and an active member of the bar, preferably in the State of Florida. Required.
- 5 years’ experience as an intellectual property attorney; Trademark attorney; Patent attorney; or Litigation attorney. Required.
- Experience working on IP and Business Litigation matters. Substantial experience with discovery, motion practice, depositions and trials required.
- Ability to communicate professionally and adapt interpersonal skills to a variety of audiences required.
- Proficient computer skills, preferably with Microsoft Office software required.
- Demonstrate multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks required.
- Ability to read and write English fluently required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people and present a positive, professional image required.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and leadership skills required.
- Organizational and planning skills required.
- Ability to demonstrate teamwork by assisting co-workers required.
- Ability to be resourceful, innovative and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking skills and strong attention to detail.
