Job Posting for Athletic Trainer at Star Valley Health
While upholding the Star Valley Health mission, vision and values this key position is responsible for providing Athletic Training services to high school students, to coordinate care of students sports injuries with their primary care providers of choice, stock and maintain supplies, and work with other staff of SV Health as needed. This is an at-will position.
Job Duties
Seasonal Duties:
Baseline concussion neurocognitive testing and record keeping.
Stocking and maintaining sport's medical kits.
Advising or creating strength and conditioning plans if requested by coaches.
Daily duties:
Rehab/open office hours during lunchtime or another time during the day as approved by the high school administration.
Immediately after school practice preparation (taping, therapeutic treatments, padding, practice recommendations, etc.).
Rehabilitation services during practice for athletes too injured to practice.
Emergency and primary care during practice.
Communicating new injuries and treatment plans with parents, coaches, students, and personal medical provider.
Follow primary medical provider’s treatment plan.
Game coverage for all home games.
Work with the high school administration for travel to away events when needed.
Coordinate with trainers in other schools to insure care of students at away games as available
Yearly Duties:
Meet with members of the local medical community on a regular basis to develop practices that will provide students with necessary care/services.
Keep inventory and order supplies.
Working with medical providers:
Consult with student’s primary medical provider when necessary.
Provide a list of all medical providers to students and their parents in the event extended/additional services are necessary. Athletics care provider cannot steer services to themselves or their company. It needs to be client choice.
Attend meetings and education training as scheduled and needed
Perform other duties as needs arise or delegated
Requirements
Abilities & Skills:
Professional oral and written communication
Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Internet
Multi-tasking skills with the ease of changing directions upon request and need
Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, communicate effectively, and demonstrate sensitivity to clients, visitors, students, teachers and staff
Strong organizational and prioritization aptitude
Comply with HIPAA and other federal, state and local regulations, as well, as maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in student, client and staff matters
Physical demands require Athletic Trainers to continually walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift and stand for long periods of time. In addition, Athletic Trainers move heavy equipment and lift patients or help them turn, stand or walk.
Experience & Education:
Certified Athletic training degree, Masters or Doctorate preferred.
Active Wyoming licensure
Maintain current driver’s license
Capability to care and treat patients with needs from pediatric to geriatrics
