Responsibilities of the resident assistant manager:
● Provides Person Centered Supports
● Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team in the formulation and the execution of the residents’ Life Plans.
● Provides direct personal care and daily living skills when individuals are unable to do so due to disability issues, illness, injury or behavioral challenges.
● Assists residents with scheduling medical and therapy appointments. Assists residents in travel training to the appointments, and instructs individuals on independently attending appointments. In addition, may be required to provide transportation to medical appointments.
● Assists residents in organizing, coordinating and attending recreational/community activities.
● Responsible for carrying out action steps indicated on Plans of Nursing Services and provide medical care & triage as instructed by the R.N.
● Responsible for medical management following AMAP guidelines and agency policies and procedures.
● Responsible for obtaining, maintaining and updating First Aid, AMAP, CPR and other designated certifications as applicable.
● Maintains participant records according to policies and procedures and as directed by supervisor.
● Mentors residential habilitation instructors, Assists Residence Manager with rotating the on-call cell phone, Completes staff schedule.
● Ensures that the IRA maximizes its billing requirement based on the current occupancy when designated by the Residential Manager.
Requirements of the resident assistant manager:
● Abides by the DSP Code of Ethics.
● Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
● Ability to use Microsoft and other internet based applications.
● Ability to work independently required, Effective problem solving skills required.
● Must possess a valid driver’s license, and a licensed, insured vehicle.
● Must be able to work flexible hours based on the needs of the program. These hours may include evenings, weekends or holidays.
● Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and efficiently required.
● Associate’s Degree and one year OPWDD experience preferred. Will consider a high school diploma with two years of related or OPWDD experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $20.93 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
