We’re looking for a manager, Global Communications to contribute to Starbucks success by executing proactive integrated communications programs across the enterprise, elevating Starbucks international business segment through storytelling and driving executive communications through a multi-channel and multi-audience approach, focused on the company’s narratives. The individual will partner with Global Public Affairs colleagues and liaise with multiple teams across our market, regional and global offices in order to drive the integration of communications priorities and the global news agenda to continue to elevate Starbucks in the hearts and minds of our customers, partners and the communities we serve. This role requires a high level of organization, strong written communication skills, flexibility working across time zones and cultural empathy. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast moving, dynamic global work environment, and highly cross functional organization. This individual should have a passion for international news, sustainability and social impact in today’s world; an awareness of cultural, economic, and political viewpoints; and be a team player with an exceptional work ethic. As a manager, you will… - Identify and execute integrated communications strategies across our international business segment grounded on the company’s priorities; - Drive effective organizational engagement through a regular cadence of international meetings and manage required follow up with teams to drive ongoing understanding and alignment; - Lead owned and earned executive communications for senior leaders to further strengthen the company’s brand reputation; and - Engage media and influencer relationships to proactively and reactively drive stories that advance, uplift and protect the company’s reputation.
Qualifications:
We’d love to hear from people with: - A bachelor’s degree and 5 years or more communications experience with expertise in international or premium retail communications. - Experience managing multiple complex projects contributing to cross-functional initiatives that lead to demonstrated results. - Strong writing and copyediting skills, with experience in short-form narrative and editorial journalism, and proven expertise and passion for telling international stories. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and finding creative solutions to complex challenges. - Experience working in and across multiple geographies, across numerous time zones, with a broad range of stakeholders and influencers. - An entrepreneurial spirit, with an ability to work both independently and inter-dependently with large diverse teams. - Leading with a growth mindset and acting as a catalyst for change – seeing opportunities and driving improvements. - Experience with database management, mastery of PowerPoint and WordPress preferred.
