Job Summary and Mission:
This position contributes to success of the Roastery, Reserve and Princi Bakery stores by preparing beautifully assembled food including but not limited to salads, sandwiches, freshly baked pastries and pizzas to be served to customers. A Roastery, Reserve and Princi Bakery baker is responsible for preparing all food items, proofing of pastries and breads, the assembly and baking of products. They are expected to demonstrate culinary leadership by preparing and assembling quality food products in a fast-paced environment.
Summary of Key Responsibilities

Food Passionate & Brand Ambassador:

- Serve as in-store passionate food expert providing exceptional knowledge of food and beverages as well as information on quality of ingredients and how our products are made
- Demonstrates impeccable composure and ability to thrive in ambiguous situations. Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operations to standard and to set a positive example for the team
- Consistently prepares quality food items for all customers by adhering to recipe and presentation standards
- Contributes to our exceptional customer experience by keeping up with production demands throughout the day
- Follows all health, safety and sanitation guidelines
- Responsible for learning, knowing and sharing extensive food knowledge and beverage offerings
- Maintain knowledge of a wide variety of rotating food and beverage items
Service:
- Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating the environment, both in the Princi zone and throughout the space
- Provide an exception Princi Food experience by leading with customer connection while seeking to discover and respond to customer needs
- Engage customers and leverage selling skills through recommendations by suggested food and beverage pairings
Operations:
- Assemble and finish all food menu items, including pizza, croissants, brioche; assembles sandwiches and salads and prepares made to order baked eggs and aperitivo items
- Stocks food display case based on set business levels and supplies for service
- Maintain the food case to create an appealing and display throughout the day
- Ensures proper proofing of various doughs and laminates
- Execute daily prep lists and production needs to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake and assemble by day part
- Receives and verifies deliveries from the commissary, ensuring all ingredients and products are prepared and delivered according to established standards.
- Adheres to standard inventory management and storage procedures
- Communicates maintenance concerns or supply needs to management
- Completes production sheets and other records as required
- Follows Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all partners during each shift
Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that partners can locate resources and product as needed. Manages cleanliness of utensils and equipment
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in service industry (i.e. kitchen, restaurant, bar, or hospitality)
- Reading, writing, and verbal proficiency in the English language
- Available to work flexible hours, which could include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Food handler card preferred, except when they are required by law
- Basic Knife Skills
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions and request clarification when needed
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team, building positive working relationships with other team members
- High attention to detail, strong work ethic, ability to multitask and prioritize is essential
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, reach, crawl, push/pull, climb stairs, and stand without limitation and for long periods of time
- Ability to carry 35lb on a consistent basis
- Ability to occasionally lift and push up to 50lb
