Stardock is seeking a talented Game Director to spearhead the revitalization of our game titles. This position will be instrumental in reinvigorating a portfolio of existing game tiles, driving updates, DLC's, and other enhancements to re-engage the player base and attract new audiences. Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Establish and articulate a clear vision for the revitalization of each game in our catalog. Lead cross-functional teams including producers, engineers, artists, and marketers to achieve this vision.
- Oversee the development of game updates, expansions, and DLC. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet high quality standards.
- Collaborate with the design team to innovate and enhance gameplay, user interface, and overall player experience. Ensure that game updates are aligned with current market trends and player expectations.
- Manage and mentor the team, fostering a collaborative environment where creative ideas and strategies can flourish. Coordinate efforts between departments to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Keep abreast of market trends, player feedback, and competitive dynamics. Use this information to make informed decisions about game updates and marketing strategies.
- Engage with the existing game community to gather feedback, build excitement for upcoming releases, and maintain a loyal player base. Utilize social media, forums, and other communication channels for direct engagement.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional strategies for game updates and new content releases. Ensure that marketing efforts are aligned with the game's vision and audience expectations.
- Oversee the testing phases of the game development process to ensure that updates are bug-free and enhance the overall gaming experience.
Education and/or Experience Desired:
- A track record of success in game development, evidenced by a portfolio of launched titles.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
- A solid grasp of game design principles, mechanics, and player psychology.
- Familiarity with the gaming industry's landscape and trends.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet ambitious deadlines.
- A passion for PC strategy and simulation games and an understanding of their mechanics.
- Established understanding of existing Stardock franchises preferred.
