What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Stark Properties, Inc.?

Jones Petroleum is in the process of interviewing candidates for an Accountant position for our Jackson, Georgia office. This is a forty (40) hour a week position with benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform banking duties including drafting of customers and payments to vendors
  • Ensure sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements
  • Process accounts payable activities for fuel related vendors including input and payment of vendor invoices, support of vendor inquiries, and related paper filing.
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling statements and related transactions.
  • Oversee and review posting of fuel prices daily.
  • Process accounts receivable activities including input of invoices and processing of receipts.
  • Complete reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintain historical records by filing and scanning documents.
  • Answer questions and resolves issues presented by internal & external customers
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing identified tasks as needed.

Personal qualifications and attributes necessary for successful performance in this role include:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or must have at least five (5) years previous experience in an accounting role;
  • Prefer to have previous experience in Petroleum Industry.
  • Must have excellent Excel skills and proficient in all MSOffice programs (Word, Outlook, etc).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, team player, attention to detail, customer service focused, problem solver and ability to analyze information from various sources.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
