The Starplus Production Line Manager will plan and develop their respective area within the Battery site in Kokomo, IN, in line with the facility Production System. The Team Manager will have direct responsibility of implementing the strategies to indoctrinate the culture required to achieve the plant Vision, Mission and Values and delivering objectives for their respective areas via truly empowered and supported teams. Responsible for leading change efforts within the plant to meet SPE manufacturing standards. They support employees by removing barriers to their success, and developing their knowledge, skills, and abilities.

- Accountable for production planning and implementation in respective area
- Implement the plant production operating systems and processes to SPE manufacturing standards
- Remove internal barriers by getting resources and aligning objectives and systems
- Lead transformation and change management efforts
- Develop organizational capability through coaching and development at all levels of the organization.
- Ensure employees receive the necessary training, coaching and experiences to raise their performance level and advance the organization
- Ensure buffer control
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety and quality procedures and regulations.
- Generate and identify Corrective Action and Preventative Action Requests.
- Manage hiring, retention, evaluation, promotion, and termination of hourly employees
- Coach and develop the careers of Supervisors, crew leaders, and operators
- Manages overall training program of floor operators (Skill matrix, Cross training, Check list for evaluation and certification
- Conduct monthly 1-on-1 interviews with direct reports
- Maintain good morale and a positive working environment
- Support a flexible schedule as needed and required
- Schedule PM/preventive maintenance with the Maintenance team
- Minimize equipment downtime.
- Risk management
- Ensure raw material supply control management. (aging room, 2D tape marking room, Inventory room, Jig room)
- Safety:
- Ensure a safe and healthy workplace where direct and indirect teams are suitably challenged to achieve manufacturing excellence in Quality, Cost, and Delivery
- Ensure and inspire teams to follow all safety practices and procedures
- Ensuring compliance of all basic EHS rules on the floor
- Ensure all vendors follow SPE safety Policies at all time
- Monitor the floor temperature, and communicate with Facility maintenance of any change
- Schedule all J1 equipment 5S cleaning and parts replacement when needed
- Production/Manpower Planning:
- Ensure the department production plan is met, and all issues related to smooth functioning of shop floor are addressed in timely manner
- Review production plan on a daily/weekly/monthly basis and assure that department has the necessary resources to meet demand
- Ensures right allocation of resources on the floor, manages absenteeism, trains, and builds high performance teams
- Defect management
- Production monitoring, reporting problems, and creating countermeasures
- Share production information of department to other department when necessary
- Analyze KPI’s:
- Proactively analyzes daily, weekly and quarterly data and reports progress on departmental KPIs
- Reporting current production data, and making production adjustment
- Raises any support requests from shop-floor in an objective way for the manager to make informed decisions.

- Problem Solving:
- Possess deep knowledge of the broader manufacturing organization and have the ability to mobilize support groups, managerial staff and other relevant resources to lead and assist in problem solving activities
- Able to utilize problem solving tools such as A3, 5 Whys, 8D, PDCA, Fishbone (Cause & Effect), etc.;
- To address issues in a cross-functional team approach
- Promote a culture of inter function collaboration with strong focus on productivity
- This will be a temperature controlled dry room environment, all workers are required to follow the PPE guideline.
- Clean Room environments to eliminate any unwanted air particles from infiltrating product
- Proper wearing of PPE (Smock, Face-Mask, Gloves, hat, and Anti-Static shoes are required at all time on the production floor.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulation will be required.
- Able to work 12 hour shifts.

Basic Qualifications
- Five (5) or more years of operations experience in a leadership role
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical field
- Supervised/Managed a minimum of 50 employees
- Six Sigma Green belt
- Experience with Greenfield / Startup Sites
- This individual will have experience managing high degrees of complexity in processes and communication with all levels of leadership
- Excellent organization, written, and oral communication.
- Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with some form of data analytics, data mining software
- 5 years' experience in supervision in a high-volume manufacturing environment
