Behavioral Health Intake Counselor
THE ROLE: Behavioral Health Intake Counselor
Pay range: $16 - $18 / hr (33k - 37k annually)
Behavioral Health Intake Counselor Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs same-day walk-in assessments to determine the need and appropriateness for outpatient services.
- Completes developmentally appropriate, efficient, and relevant treatment plans electronically and implements such plans.
- Provides trauma-informed resilience services using evidence-based/evidence-informed
- practices as and consults with other involved parties and refers for other services as needed.
- Compiles and shares necessary feedback data with referral sources.
- Maintains the electronic health record in a timely, complete and accurate manner. This includes all forms required by the Agency, Medicaid, 65D30, TANF, private insurance, SAMHSA, etc.
- Attendance at staff training, meetings, etc. to keep current with agency, community, and treatment-related issues.
- Demonstrates an understanding of job-related services, electronic health record standards, policy and procedures related to individuals served, and documentation of all services.
- Participates in clinical supervision to ensure resolution of therapeutic and ethical dilemmas.
- Participates as a team member and contributes to the enhancement of the department and Agency.
- Performs other duties as assigned/required.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in the field of counseling, social work, psychology or a related human services field.
- Certified mental health professional, and/or certified addictions professional or eligible to obtain certification preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
- Valid Driver’s License
- DFWP / Level II Background screening
