A law firm in Garden City, NY is looking for an Assistant Manager of IT. This person will report directly to the CIO, and help manage a team of 2. The Assistant Manager of IT is responsible for supporting all aspects of the firm's computer and network systems, ensuring technological operations run smoothly, economically and at the levels needed to support the firm's clients. This includes being adept with all end-user applications at the firm and being able to explain and assist end users with the various feature sets. This role requires hands-on technical skills, customer service skills and people management skills. The role sits 100% in-office in Garden City, with some flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per month.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the direction of the IT Department’s systems, networks and all hardware necessary to run the IT operations at the firm.
- Daily supervision of the IT support and help desk personnel. (1 level 1-heldesk tech, 1 level 2-helpdesk tech and 1 network consultant)
- Provide all levels of application support to the firm’s user base while gathering feedback in order to tailor IT solutions for the firm to meet its goals.
- Work closely with CIO & outside network consultant on specific projects or functions
Must Have:
- 2 years experience as a Help Desk Manager or similar role
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, and/or MS/Cisco certifications
- Excellent people management skills and customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Solid team player who can provide guidance and administration to the IT department in the absence of the IT Manager/CIO.
- Experience with Operating Systems including Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016 and higher, VCenter.
- Experience with Microsoft Office 2019, ProLaw, Interaction, Webex/Zoom, Litera Suite, Acrobat, Sharefile, iManage, OneSource.
- Working knowledge of Fortinet/Symantec, BitLocker, Mimecast and Duo.
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of video conferencing systems and remote access applications
