JOB SUMMARY
Contribute to a customer service-driven activities and trolley operation by conducting interpretive trolley tours for lodge guests and visitors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Abide by quality standards established for the Activities Department.
- Operate the trolley according to standards of safe and defensive driving.
- Ensure that the trolley is clean and in good working condition at all times.
- Inform the Manager of any needed repairs or routine maintenance.
- Interact with guests and provide an interpretive tour, including information on the history and legends of Starved Rock and the surrounding area, as well as activities and events.
- Use creativity to present information to trolley guests in an entertaining format and style.
- Personally, and in connection with the Manager and other staff members, respond to guest’s special requests courteously and promptly.
- Provide special assistance for physically challenged guests.
- Promptly report any damage, accidents and lost items to management.
- Provide back-up support and assistance for various special events.
- Support a work environment that inspires the highest level of performance, commitment to the mission of the lodge and teamwork within and across departments.
- Greet and maintain rapport with customers, maintaining a positive image and promoting the lodge to current and potential customers.
- Assess the level of customer satisfaction and seek assistance from management when service recovery is needed.
- Develop strong working relationships and ongoing communication with other departments to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Generate reimbursement requests for trolley gas and maintenance, making sure to provide appropriate receipts.
- Use communication effectively to enhance teamwork among people with diverse backgrounds, experiences and personalities.
- Act consistently with high personal standards of integrity.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Class B CDL with passenger endorsement.
- High school diploma.
- Completion of an IDOT physical, as required.
- Participation in a FMCSA approved drug and alcohol testing program.
- Demonstrated success in teamwork and customer service.
- People-oriented, with an upbeat and positive attitude.
- Demonstrated presentation/public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated high level of organization and time management.
- Must be able to walk, stand and sit for long periods of time.
- Must be physically able to drive a trolley.
- Must be able to climb, lift, push and pull to complete required cleaning of the trolley.
- Must have the ability to lift up to 20lbs on occasion.
- Must be willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.
