The Project Management Office (PMO) has an immediate opening for a Vice President (VPPMO). This position is responsible for a diverse statewide project portfolio that affects enterprise-wide goals and operations, and leads a team of project managers responsible for statewide information technology (IT) and non-IT initiatives at State Compensation Insurance Fund (State Fund).

In this role the incumbent will:

  • Provide oversight of all phases of project management to ensure efficient and effective delivery of a unique IT product, service or system
  • Build cross-functional relationships across all leadership levels to promote collaboration and transparent communication towards successful project deliveries
  • Oversee a large enterprise project portfolio from initiation to implementation, including direction and guidance over project intake, planning, scheduling, oversight, and governance
  • Leverage project management standards and best practices for Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid projects, and ability to mature operations in support of information technology initiatives for various types of customers

This position currently has an option to work from home and is subject to changes based on State Fund guidelines and business needs.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 5 years of project management experience, of which at least 3 years must be from supervising a PMO or managing multiple project teams in a matrix environment
  • Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional certification
  • Proven experience in setting a program’s vision and supporting strategies, and successfully achieving goals in support of those strategies
  • Excellent relationship management skills with excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Exceptional business acumen, operations, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to assess current practices, identify opportunities for improvement, build consensus and drive the implementation of related changes
  • Experience managing project or leading teams through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, including system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation
  • Certified Scrum Master and Scrum Product Owner
  • Experience providing business-level communications on status, roadmaps, dependencies, and key performance indicators (KPIs); ensuring visibility and transparency through tools and dashboards
  • Ability to lead, supervise, coordinate, direct, train, motivate, appraise and discipline staff

SALARY: $8,381 - $11,231 / per month depending on experience.
