Responsibilities
State Farm In-House Insurance Staff Counsel is seeking a paralegal to join the Claims Litigation team. The selected candidate will sit in either Bloomington, Illinois, Indianapolis, Indiana or Tempe, Arizona based on their location. Responsibilities will include reviewing medical records and bills and preparing medical chronologies and billing summaries. The most qualified candidates will have the ability to work independently, prioritize workload, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and communicate effectively. The selected individual will be considered a hybrid employee, spending some time working in office with some optional opportunities to work in a virtual environment at times. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs.

Incumbency: Due to the extensive training, new team members are eligible for promotional opportunities after 9 months of service and 9 months for lateral opportunities.
Qualifications
- Prior litigation or paralegal experience, paralegal degree/certificate/certification, medical training, or relevant coursework or legal studies degree is required
- Civil litigation experience in personal injury
- Background in reviewing medical records and preparing medical chronologies is required
- Strong written communication skills
- Experience using Evermap and/or Adobe Bookmarking
- Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work opportunity
