The Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API) is recruiting for a
Mental Health Clinician 3.
What you will be doing:
As a Mental Health Clinician 3, you will provide skilled and intensive psychotherapeutic casework services and general mental health services to patients in an 80-bed inpatient setting. You will have the opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings with the licensed practitioner, registered nurse, and other clinical staff for the discussion of diagnoses and treatment of patients. This position completes psychosocial assessments, coordinates treatment plans, and conducts discharge planning. The Mental Health Clinician 3 is responsible for communicating with family members, support systems, guardians, and/or community providers on treatment progress and recommendations.

Doctoral degree OR Master’s degree from an accredited college in counseling, psychology, social work, child guidance, vocational rehabilitation, or a closely related field.
AND

"Training" and "education" in this guidance are synonyms for the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction. It includes instruction through formal and informal methods (such as classroom, on-line, self-study, and on-the-job), from accredited and unaccredited sources, and long-duration (such as a post-secondary degree) and short-duration (such as a seminar) programs.
"Typically gained by" means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.
