The Disability Determination Services Administration is seeking a Administrative Assistant 1 that can skillfully incorporate the goals of the company as an Administrative Assistant 1. This position performs a full range of professional administrative duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct case development activities which requires analysis and judgment
- Schedule consultative examinations (CE) including pre and post follow-up phone calls and development assembly
- Train and/or mentor new or less experienced support staff
- Work with the Office of Disability Adjudicative Review (ODAR) within the Social Security Administration to schedule and order CE's requested by various Administrative Law Judges
- Respond to inquiries from claimants, vendors and other sources regarding status of claim or for transportation
- Contacts claimants, doctors, hospitals and other sources as needed
Knowledge of:
- Basic knowledge of computers and programs
- Fundamental administrative support activities
- Performance and productivity standards
Skill in:
- Developing, coordinating and providing technical assistance to staff
- Developing, facilitating and coordinating the work of staff
- Utilizing verbal and written communications
Ability to:
- Analyze and resolve routine problems
- Establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships
- Use automated systems to enter and retrieve information
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- At least one year of clerical experience.
- If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements.
- Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
