The Office of Operations provides support for the business operations of CDPHE, including oversight of department-wide and business-focused technology functions, occupancy of leased space, budget and financial operations, and legal and regulatory compliance.

What you will be Doing:

This position serves as the program and project manager over the Health Data Modernization work funded under the Public Health Infrastructure Grant. This includes overseeing the work of various contractors. Coordinating activities across agency, OIT and Vendor staff. Coordinating activities with Local Public Health Agencies and the Colorado Association of Local Public Health Officials (CAPLO). Coordinating the Health Data Modernization Steering Committee and associated workgroups. This position is also responsible for reporting budgets and outcomes to the CDC. This position has staff authority over department wide Public Health Data Technology Modernization.Option 1: Experience  
Nine (9) years of relevant professional experience in administration or management of a program or organization working with budgets, forecasting, strategic planning or process improvement.  

Option2: Combination of Education and Experience  
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Sciences, Business, Management, Finance, Public Health, Project/Program Management, or related fields of study.   AND five (5) years of professional experience in administration or management of a program or organization working with budgets, forecasting, strategic planning, or process improvement. 

Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. 

This experience must be substantiated within the work history section of the application. The words, "See Resume" will not be accepted. Part-time work will be pro- rated.   

Preferred Qualifications:   
  • Knowledge of Public Health programs and data at the local, state and national level    
  • Project Management Experience           
  • Experience with grants and budget management and reporting in a government system  
  • Facilitation skills with experience in managing diverse interests                       
  • Contracts management with experience in managment of technology related contracts  
  • Experience in the Agile development process            
  • Experience communicating technology related activities to a non-technical audience  
  • Knowledge of or experience with the Centers for Disease Control's North Star Architecture          
  • Experience working within a centralized Information Technology structure (like the State of Colorado's Governor's Office of Information Technology)     
  • Proven written Communication Skills (Demonstrated in the attached Cover Letter)
