Our ideal candidate will be able to work strategically and collaboratively across departments within the industry and with multiple stakeholders to successfully drive an effective and efficient workforce strategy for the Cannabis Industry. This will require excellent written and verbal communication with strong project management skills, having familiarity with the Workforce System (including the Regional Workforce Investment Boards, state and colleges education system, community-based organizations, and state agencies), competency with Microsoft Office/related programming (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and strong attention to detail. An effective, versatile, action-oriented individual, dedicated to efficient productivity will be successful in this role.
- Organize, inform, and support the creation of Cannabis Career Pathways for CT training participants with stackable credentials
- Inform on the development of new and/or improve existing Cannabis workforce curriculum in partnership with industry, training program providers and post-secondary institutions
- Support the preparation of presentations and reports for SEC and the public at large
- Locate and analyze relevant data sets in support of Cannabis workforce initiatives
- Distill and perform research to inform strategic policy recommendations on Cannabis workforce best practices
- Apply state and federal Cannabis regulatory information to inform the update of Cannabis Career Pathways Curriculum
- Support the SEC across active initiatives related to Cannabis workforce development and generate strategic recommendations to facilitate progress and completion of workforce-related projects
- Draft strategic communications and marketing plans to promote and support SEC Workforce Initiatives
- Provide website, social media, and other communications-related updates in regard to Cannabis workforce development priorities
- Serve on the Governor’s Workforce Council Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility committee to ensure historically marginalized populations have access to Cannabis job training and workforce development opportunities
- Establish and manage a CT Cannabis Industry Sector Partnership
- Full-time, 40 hours per week

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of the General Experience must been in a consultative capacity with programmatic and administrative or project management responsibilities in the specific area of assignment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
- College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
- A Master's degree in business administration, public administration or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.
- Department of Labor: Two (2) years of experience as an Apprenticeship and Training Program Manager may be substituted for the General and Special Experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in monitoring and evaluating workforce development plans.
- Experience in creating, monitoring, and evaluating workforce training programs.
- Experience with the legalized Cannabis Industry.
- Experience with report writing.
- Experience creating and delivering presentations.
- Experience in social equity and working with impacted populations.
Salary : $93,938 - $128,089
