This job advertisement is for Licensed Psychologists to provide clinical evaluation and treatment services to adults in the Civil Units of the 1100 bed Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee. Pending consideration of training and demonstrated proficiency, some Licensed Psychologists in the civil units may be designated by the Chief Psychologist to perform and supervise forensic psychological evaluations as a primary job role. The patient population comprises men and women committed for inpatient treatment under Florida's forensic (i.e., Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity, and Incompetent to Proceed/Stand Trial) and civil commitment statutes. Minimum qualification requires that the candidate have a License as a Psychologist in Florida. Strong preference will be given to applicants who can document doctoral training, internship, and postdoctoral supervised experience delivering psychological testing and therapy to adult, mental health inpatients in a multidisciplinary team setting. The job position may involve supervision of undergraduate, master's level, predoctoral, and postdoctoral trainees in psychology and related fields as assigned by the Chief Psychologist. Applicants should obtain an authorized transcript showing the receipt of the Doctorate from their graduate school to be used if they advance to the interview phase.
