JOB SUMMARY:

This is a Revenue Specialist III position in the General Tax Administration Program, Receivables Management Field Operations Collections Process, in the Tallahassee service center. The incumbent contacts taxpayers to resolve tax liabilities and coordinates the filing and enforcement actions for Department of Revenue taxes. The incumbent also executes levies, garnishments, and transferee liability, issues subpoenas prepares legal affidavits, performs physical asset inventories, secures legal service of documents, and recommends agency actions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue within the General Tax Administration.  
  • Nine months of experience collecting tax obligations within the General Tax Administration.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

  • Eighteen months of experience working with accounts receivables, banking, or collections can substitute for the required nine months of experience collecting tax obligations within the General Tax Administration.
  • College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semesters or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required nine months of experience collecting tax obligations within the General Tax Administration.

SPECIAL NOTES:

  • This position travels locally to taxpayers’ business locations. In addition, occasional overnight travel may be necessary for training purposes. For all travel, you will use your own means of transportation. Travel costs will be reimbursed according to agency policy. 

SALARY: The hiring salary for this position generally will not exceed $3,516.65 monthly/$42,199.80 annually.
