The Information Technology Division seeks to fill a Developer 1 position. In this role, you will perform requirements gathering and analysis, application development, version control updates, design documentation & reviews, debug software, test applications, prepare implementation specifications and provide production application support.
The ideal applicant will possess initiative to stay on top of new changes to systems, a solid understanding of different software development methodologies to include Traditional and Agile, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Core Job Duties
The Developer 1 researches and analyzes program or systems issues and develops program documentation. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing dependable production support of the GenTax application. May be assigned production support duties which require bug fixes as well as new development.
- Completing assigned program analysis, coding & testing while working competently and within communicated expected time frames as agreed upon with Manager.
- Leveraging technical writing skills to update application documentation/diagrams as necessary.
- Responding to application issues in a timely manner
- Translating business requirements into development activities in secure and maintainable code
Entry Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in computer science or management information systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- Object Oriented Programming development experience
- Working knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Critical and analytical thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Keen attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 Year of ITS/GenTax development experience
- Experience with documenting technical processes
Position Status & Pay Grade: Unclassified - Pay Grade M
Hiring Range: $51,310.72 - $68,677.24

Location: Century Center Office - This vacancy requires office hours of 8am to 5pm, Monday - Friday. Telework options are subject to change based on DOR policies and ability to meet performance expectations.
