General Description
The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) is a state organization dedicated to partnering with communities to help create a climate of success for Georgia's families and businesses. Agency Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited college or university
Or
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
AND
- Two (2) years of contracting-related experience; or
- Four (4) years of contracting-related experience; OR,
- Two (2) years of experience as a Contracts Administrator or equivalent position for the State of Georgia.
- Strong PC skills especially with Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and MS Teams.
- Strong organizational and communications skills
- Proven problem-solving and team building skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational skills and a detailed
- oriented approach to the completion of assignments
- Possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond politely and courteously to customer inquiries via email and telephone and offer resolutions to customer inquiries/problems.
- Coordinates contracts that provide for the purchase of a wide variety of services and products for DCA and GHFA.
- Provides oversight and administrative technical assistance for contract development, processing, and maintenance.
- Reviews contracts for compliance with federal and state laws; rules and regulations; and department requirements.
- Maintain the contracts repository for the agency.
- Conduct frequent audits of existing contracts to ensure accuracy of agency point of contact, edits/amendments, extensions, and renewals, as appropriate.
- Provides technical and other legal support to the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel
- Develops and conducts training for program staff and external participants involved with contracts.
- Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL, HOURS, ENVIRONMENT)/ PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary Work - Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience in business, accounting or a related field OR Five years of experience in business, accounting or a related field OR One year of experience required at the lower level Contract Complnc Tech 2 (LET041) or position equivalent.
