Learning Lab Assistant, PT
Under minimal supervision, the Learning Lab Assistant at each North Georgia Technical College campus is responsible for assisting Learning Support faculty in the Learning Support computer labs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assists students as they work through the individualized computer plan;
- Assists with the maintenance and operation of the Learning Support computer labs;
- Assists the Learning Lab Coordinator with maintaining records pertaining to attendance and student success;
- Tutors students in the Student Success Center
Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.
- Demonstrates eagerness to learn and assume responsibility; seeks out and accepts increased responsibility; displays a "can do" approach to work.
- Shows persistence and seeks alternatives when obstacles arise; seeks alternative solutions; does things before being asked or forced to by events.
- Works within the system in a resourceful manner to accomplish reasonable work goals; shows flexibility in respond to process change and adapts to and accommodates new methods and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate Degree from an accredited college or university. Must be proficient in reading comprehension, basic grammar, basic writing procedures, and mathematics skill that range from basic computation to basic algebraic concepts. Must have excellent organizational, communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills as well as computer knowledge to include the Internet, email and Microsoft Office.
** MUST BE PROFICIENT IN COLLEGE ALGEBRA
Preferred Qualifications
Preference may be given to applicants who possess previous tutoring or teaching experience. A strong math background is also preferred.
