Engineer II - $4,630 to $5,430 per month (SR-20, Step C to H, Salary includes Shortage Category Differential)
Engineer III - $4,985 to $5,860 per month (SR-22, Step C to H, Salary includes Shortage Category Differential)
Engineer IV - $6,351 to $6,959 per month (SR-24, Step C to H, Salary includes Shortage Category Differential)

The Engineer III performs moderately difficult professional engineering work in the planning, design, construction, maintenance, operation and/or evaluation of engineering projects or facilities or assists higher-level engineers on more complex projects; and perform other related duties as assigned.
The Engineer IV performs difficult and complex professional engineering work in the planning, design, construction, maintenance and/or operation of specialized engineering projects; or plans and conducts research, development or other work in a specialized engineering field for the purpose of improving, extending or validating precedents, data, methods or techniques; and performs other related duties as assigned.

To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
Professional License: For Level IV Engineers, applicants must possess a valid State of Hawaii Professional Engineer license at the time of application.

Education Requirement: A bachelor's degree from a school of engineering from an accredited four-year college or university. Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements will apply.
Engineering Experience:
Level II: One (1) year of progressively responsible professional engineering experience which required the knowledge and application of the basic physical and mathematical sciences and the engineering sciences to the solution of theoretical or practical engineering problems.
Level III: Two (2) years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience.
Level IV: Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience; with at least one (1) year of Engineering Experience must have been comparable to the next lower level.
Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
