This position will be on a Case Management team with opportunities to also work with our Independent Living youth population. We are seeking applicants for Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist (PSR) Family Service Worker (FSW) to join our team.


The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. In addition, successful candidates will be required to complete a criminal history background investigation. Employment is dependent upon satisfactory results of the investigation.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  • Incumbent will also provide direct services to children and families.
  • Monitor child and family achievements of outcomes for safety, permanency and well-being.
  • Provide emergency and crisis intervention services.
  • Work directly with birth families, children, foster families, court partners, law enforcement agencies, schools, and other community partners.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team staffings regarding assigned cases.
  • Prepare case record notes and court reports attesting to engagement with clients and progress/results from services provided.
  • Determine appropriate child/youth placement and ensure the placement is in a least restrictive environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. It is highly recommended to attach a one-page cover letter to your application to demonstrate how you meet the requirements below.

  • Good knowledge of human services principles and practices to include: behavioral management methods, social and family systems, human growth and development, case management methods. Typically gained by a Bachelor's degree in social work, behavioral science, education, or healthcare from a nationally accredited university or college. Must have included at least 21 semester credit hours in human services fields such as psychology, social work, special education, counseling, and psychosocial rehabilitation.
  • Computer literacy for data entry, electronic mail, composing reports and letters, and storing and retrieving documents.
  • A valid driver's license.
