Position Overview

The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire an Account Clerk II for the Ludeman Developmental Center located in Park Forest, Illinois to perform posting and reviews of individual center accounts and donated restricted fund accounts. Verifies and controls individual account balances.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs posting and reviews for individual Ludeman Developmental Center accounts and donated restricted fund accounts.

  • Posts bank deposits to individual Trust Fund accounts including the designation of the payment type i.e., Social Security Administration (SSA), Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Veteran Affairs (VA), RR etc.

  • Prepares checks to pay vendor invoices.

  • Prepares monthly Cost of Care remittance report for monthly care and treatment charges and simultaneously posts disbursements to each individual’s account.

  • Reviews purchase requests for availability of funds for Petty Cash or individual Trust Fund accounts.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school.
  • Requires one (1) year of office experience, including bookkeeping work.
  • Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this classification.

  • Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
  • Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
