Position Overview
Under general direction of the Business Administrator, serves as working supervisor; serves as the Business Manager and performs responsible managerial duties in the administration of the fiscal, business and service operations at Chester Mental Health Center, planning, supervising and controlling activities of the Dietary Services, Patient Resources, Housekeeping Services, Laundry Services, Support Services, Property & Supply. Develops, revises and implements facility business operations, rules, regulations and procedures. Assists in the development of facility budgets and requisitions.
Job Responsibilities
1. Serves as working supervisor.
2. Serves as the Business Manager.
3. Assists in the development of facility budgets and requisitions including ordering supplies for the Dietary, Laundry and Housekeeping Services Departments.
4. Oversees and monitors all records and work schedules to verify the effective and efficient functioning of the Dietary, Laundry and Housekeeping Services Department and provides the Business Administrator with summaries of those records and schedules.
5. Participates as an active member of the Infection Control Committee, the Emergency Management Committee, the Management and Operations Committee and the Health and Safety Committee.
6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college with a major in business administration or a related field.
- Requires two years professional business experience such as might be obtained as a Business Administrative Specialist or successful completion of a training course approved by the agency.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
- Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen. On January 1, 2020, the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act made it legal for residents over the age of 21 to produce, consume and sell cannabis in Illinois. Please note that although the law has changed, the Department will continue to enforce the Department’s zero tolerance Drug Testing policy. The use of unauthorized drugs, including cannabis, by an employee, regardless of the position held is prohibited.
