Position Overview
The Division of Family & Community Services is seeking to hire an energetic and detail-oriented individual to serve as the Regional Training Administrator for a regional office.
This position supervises and administers the activities of professional staff providing training to casework staff who provide services to applicants seeking public assistance or referrals.
The Division helps Illinois residents by connecting them with many programs and services. Through our programs, services and prevention efforts, the Division improves the health and well-being of individuals and promotes self-sufficiency and integrity of families of Illinois.
The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with higher level and lower-level positions within the agency.
The individual must be able to analyze information from reports and observation, develop training programs for staff and management.
The individual must be able to maintain the integrity of confidential information.
Job Responsibilities
- Serves as the Regional Training Administrator for the Region.
- Serves as full-line supervisor.
- Develops and revises training programs, tools and desk aids to fulfill employee development needs and / or changes in policies and procedures.
- Gathers data and information from regional staff and Local Office staff through meetings, questionnaires, and interviews to analyze operational and performance problems, and develops strategies for improvement.
- Develops and maintains liaison relationships with other Regional Training Administrators, Bureau of Training Development, Policy advisors, Local Office Administrators and Regional staff to fulfill training needs.
- Serves as Interim Local Office Administrator (LOA) during absences.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college.
- Requires three (3) years progressively responsible administrative experience in a health or human services organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (3) years of professional supervisory experience assigning work, providing guidance to subordinates, recommending counseling and / or discipline following collective bargaining agreements, training staff and approving time off.
- Three (3) years of professional experience interpreting and implementing policies, procedures and goals of public assistance services such as cash, food and medical assistance programs.
- Three (3) years of professional experience in a public assistance eligibility system such as Integrated Eligibility Systems (IES).
- Three (3) years of professional experience in current social welfare and economic problems of community and individual health, educational and recreational needs and community and state resources.
- Four (4) years of professional experience with social casework methods, techniques and principles gained through human services related college education or professional experience as a caseworker.
- Two (2) years of professional casework experience in a social service agency.
