The Applicant must possess a Licensed Master Social work license (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

This position may be filled as:
- DETAIL: The selected employee may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
- PROBATIONAL APPOINTMENT: Current permanent status classified State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment, if selected.
- TEMPORARY JOB APPOINTMENT: This position may be filled by temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.

The master's degree in social work must be from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, 1701 Duke Street, Suite 200 Alexandria, VA 22314.
To manage the medical, rehabilitative, or mental health/social services programs at a juvenile correctional facility or an adult correctional facility housing 1300 inmates with special functions; or to serve as the assistant to the Corrections Program Manager 3 (Mental Health Director) at Elayn Hunt Correctional Center/Adult Reception and Diagnostic Center or at LSP; or to manage the treatment program in a juvenile facility housing 350 plus inmates.
Level of Work:
Manager.
Supervision Received:
Broad review from a higher level management/administrative official.
Supervision Exercised:
Direct over various professional level medical, rehabilitative, psychological or mental health/social services personnel; may have direct over clerical personnel.
Location of Work:
Department of Public Safety and Corrections; Corrections Services, Adult and Juvenile Correctional Facilities.
Job Distinctions:
Differs from Corrections Program Manager 1 by presence of combined professional staff (medical, rehabilitative, psychological or social) or by managing the mental health or medical services of ARDC facility or mental health level of care 1A facility. Differs from Corrections Program Manager 3 by presence of managing the maximum custody for males.Develops, implements and maintains medical, rehabilitative or social service programs for an adult or juvenile correctional facility.
Supervises and coordinates the various professional discipline of the program(s) thru administrative guidance.
Evaluates program effectiveness for quality and quantity of services provided. Revises policies and procedures as indicated to assure program efficiency and continuity.
Determines program requirements of personnel, equipment, materials and supervises preparation of budget requests and expenditure of funds.
Serves on special disciplinary, evaluative, classification and other committees concerned with the custody, care or planning for inmates.
Supervises the operations of the maximum custody security unit for juvenile inmates.
Salary : $4,784 - $8,608
